Capstone Project
How might we help alumni connect with young students?
(Sponsored by the Stanford Alumni Association)
For my design capstone project, my partner and I worked with the Stanford Alumni Association to help them connect students and recent graduates.
We began by interviewing members of the broader Alumni community, reaching out to current students and finding what the key pain points were in this missing connection.
We soon realized that a combination of factors were contributing to this disconnect, among them an outdated database system & an unfamiliarity with the process of reaching out to alumni for career or life advice. We found that this disconnect was mostly one sided; alumni loved hearing from students, but students felt insecure about how they could reach out.
To address this, we put together a productized, scalable workshop series that enable anyone to teach themselves and others the effectively reach out to alumni to find otherwise unknown opportunities.
"Magic Moments" Mapping
We led a series of test workshops to find what key elements and structures worked best, and produced a finalized report & structure which has since begun to be implemented by the Student Alumni Committee.

Imagination Toolkit
Corporate Project, sponsored by RadioFlyer
How might we reimagine the future of play?
Focusing on siblings, we observed them at play & developed a series of insights comparing our unexpected observations with RadioFlyer's current product line.
We realized that, despite RadioFlyer's history as being a tool of adventure, it had transitioned into being simply... a tool. Used to lug around soccer equipment, tailgating supplies, or children themselves, a focus on safety & utility overshadowed the company's view of themselves.
We provided these insights & product strategy recommendations to the company, encouraging them to consider how they wished to develop their products as the role of play continues to evolve.
